Nail Commandments
| 1. |
Treat your nails as jewels - not tools! Use proper tools.
|
| 2. |
Wear gloves - for washing up, gardening, decorating and cleaning.
|
| 3. |
Do not pick - natural nails, nail extensions or cuticles.
|
| 4. |
Moisturise - hands daily and use cuticle oil.
|
| 5. |
Use acetone free - nail polish remover. Natural or false, it is harsh on nails and surrounding skin. Acetone removes false nails.
|
| 6. |
Do not bite - keep fingers out of your mouth.
|
| 7. |
Natural nails - need a healthy diet, eat well.
|
| 8. |
Improve blood flow - massage stimulates nail growth, rub that cuticle oil in.
|
| 9. |
For natural nails - have regular manicures. You are less likely to pick, chew or bite if your nails look fab.
|
| 10. |
For false nails - have regular infills every 2-3 weeks to keep in tip-top condition. |
Remember, your nails are not invisible!
Nail Aftercare
Whether you have full extensions or overlays applied to your natural nails, you must now understand the following points to ensure the success with your newly treated nails.
Your natural nails are made up of dead skin. Everybody's skin is different; therefore everybody's nails are different. This is why we use Acrylic and Gel so we can find the best product to suit your nails.
- You must only use non-acetone nail polish remover. If you use a normal remover it will weaken your extensions.
- Do not pick your nails when they start to grow away from the cuticle area.
- Do not use your nails as tools, i.e. to open boxes or as a screwdriver.
- Most importantly, you MUST return for your infills regularly and in the recommended time (ask your technician).
Infills are not just to make your nails look attractive, it is important for your technician to check on the health and hygiene of your nails. If you return for your infills and look after your nails, they will look fabulous all the time. Your nails are on show as much as your skin and hair; therefore adding to the overall look of being well groomed.
If you do not return for infills, your nails will deteriorate and must be removed. Customers with an oily nail bed may experience slightly more lifting around the cuticles. If this occurs, do not pick. Your technician can show you how to maintain your nails at home, do not attempt to do so without this advice as misuse of nail glue or using the incorrect glue can result in problems.
For REMOVAL of any nail extension or overlay, please follow these instructions;
- Using a glass or pot bowl, fill with tip remover/acetone.
- Cut down the free edge of the extensions and soak nails in solution for at least half an hour or until nails are completely clean of product.
- Keep kitchen roll to hand and wipe over nails regularly throughout the soaking time.
- Once product is completely removed, buff natural nails and apply cuticle oil.
